Drawing Tools
ChartLabs provides a full suite of drawing tools for technical analysis.
Available Tools
Lines
- Trendline -- Connect two price points to identify trend direction
- Horizontal line -- Mark a specific price level (support/resistance)
- Vertical line -- Mark a specific time point (earnings, events)
- Ray -- A line extending infinitely in one direction
Fibonacci
- Fibonacci Retracement -- Draw between a swing high and low to identify retracement levels (23.6%, 38.2%, 50%, 61.8%, 78.6%)
- Fibonacci Extension -- Project potential price targets beyond the current move
Shapes
- Rectangle -- Highlight a price/time zone
- Channel -- Parallel trendlines defining a price channel
Annotations
- Text -- Add text notes directly on the chart
- Measure tool -- Measure the distance between two points in price and time
Using Drawing Tools
- Select a tool from the left toolbar on the chart
- Click on the chart to place the first anchor point
- Click again to place the second point (and third if applicable)
- The drawing appears on the chart
Modifying Drawings
- Click a drawing to select it
- Drag anchor points to reposition
- Right-click for options (delete, duplicate, configure)
- Adjust colors, line width, and style in the drawing properties
Drawing Persistence
All drawings are saved automatically as part of the chart state. They persist across sessions and are included when you save a workspace.
