Charts Overview
The chart is the core component of ChartLabs. Each chart tab is an independent instance with its own instrument, timeframe, indicators, and drawing tools.
Instrument Selection
Change the instrument on any chart by:
- Clicking the instrument name in the tab header
- Using the search panel in the right sidebar
- Clicking an instrument in a linked watchlist
- Selecting a result in the screener
Chart Features
- Multiple chart types -- Candlestick, OHLC, Line, Area, Heikin Ashi, and more
- 12 timeframes -- From 1-minute to monthly
- 150+ indicators -- Built-in, ChartLabs custom, EliteSignals premium, and marketplace
- Full drawing toolkit -- Trendlines, Fibonacci, channels, annotations
- Tab linking -- Color-coded connections between charts and watchlists
- Trading on chart -- Order lines, position lines, and right-click order placement
- Extended hours -- Pre-market and after-hours data for stocks
Chart State Persistence
Every chart automatically saves its state:
- Selected instrument and timeframe
- All indicators and their parameters
- Drawing objects
- Visible range (scroll position and zoom level)
- Chart type and theme
State is saved to the active workspace on every change.
Trading on the Chart
With a connected broker, the chart displays:
- Order lines -- Visual representations of open orders (limit, stop, stop-limit)
- Position lines -- Entry price and quantity for open positions
- Context menu trading -- Right-click to place buy/sell orders at any price level
Drag order lines to modify price levels. Click the X on an order line to cancel it.
Trading Sessions
For stocks, the chart supports Extended Trading Hours (ETH) display, showing pre-market and after-hours price action with configurable session highlighting.
